Liebster Award and Q&A

I want to say a big thank you to Maggie from Maggie’s Simple Life’ for nominating me for this award. I don’t normally take part in these awards but I thought as I was already planning on doing a Q&A I would combine the two!

The rules of Liebster Award:

  1. Acknowledge blog who nominated you and display award;
  2. Answer 11 questions the blogger gives you;
  3. Give 11 random facts about yourself;
  4. Nominate 11 blogs and notify them of the nomination;
  5. Give them 11 questions to answer
  1. What made you start your blog?

I have always had a passion for writing! When I was younger I used to fill note books with stories and poems, as well as keeping a diary, which I still do to this day. As I got older I began to play around on blogging sites, doing the odd bit of writing here and there, reading the blogs that I aspired to be like. Then about a year ago I finally set up my own blog. I was nervous to start with, but it was only in December when I really began to blog properly and it the grown from there.

  1. What motivates you for blogging?

I love the way that a blog gives you freedom to express you thoughts and feeling with others. I love being able to connect with my readers and it motivates me to see how I inspire them in different ways. I also think that blogging is a great way to network and entering the fashion world, this is extremely important, so it gives me the motivation to keep doing this through my blog.

(Questions from Azra from

  1. Whats your favourite comfort food?

Ice cream is no doubt my favourite go to food when I need a lift me up! I try not to be drawn towards it too much, but when I have a down day or want a movie night in I soon find myself grabbing a tub of chocolaty goodness out the freezer!

(Question from

  1. How do you organise your time to blog?

Organising my time on my blog can be hard as I have to fit it in alongside my other commitments, such as uni and work, but I try and always schedule in my planner that I will do at least one post a week, on a Wednesday. I try and get this post written the week before which gives me a  bit of time each day to write it. Then on those quieter weeks I also try and do a Sunday post. I do struggle sometimes but from September I am starting a bullet journal to help me organise my time better.

  1. What do you do when you have a long weekend?

On the rare occasion that I get a long weekend to myself, I will try and see any friends or family that I feel I may have neglected slightly. Whether this is just going for a coffee together to catch up or having a fun day out in London, its important to me that I find time for everyone in my life!

  1. Any place you want to travel?

I have an ever growing list of places that I want to travel, but one place that has been other for years now is Verona, Italy. I have a soft spot for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and would love to see the city in which it’s home to.

  1. What is your best blog post so far?

This is quite a hard question as I have a few favourite posts but I think it would have to be my ‘Berlin Look Book’. I had so much fun shooting this while on my trip to Berlin and I adore the outfits I wore

  1. When do you think you are maturer than people with same age?

I get a lot of people thinking that I am older than I am when I am at work or even just out and about. Lots of my family and my friends have said to me I am mature for my age and I do tend to get along with people who are older than me better. Even my best friend is older than me!

  1. When do you think you are childish?

I definitely have a childish side to me, which I think comes out most when I am with my older brother! Although we have grown up now we can’t help muck around and act like kids again when we see each other!

  1. What is one thing you can’t live without?

I cannot live without my family! They are the most important thing to me. They are not just my family but my best friends!

  1. If you have to time travel, do you want to go to future or the past?

I would go to the past! I love fashion from the 1940’s-60’s and would to experience it for real and get a true feel for life back then.

Who Am I?

Who am I?

Some of you may already know a bit about me from reading my post but for those of you don’t know who I am, let me introduce myself properly!

My name is Emma and I am a fashion student from Hertfordshire, just North of London. I study away from home and am currently living in student accommodation near to my uni. Although I love my family dearly,  but as a really independent person, living away from home has been great for me. I have wanted to study fashion for a long time and have progressed from doing a two-year course at college to where I am today. There are many fashion courses out there, all slightly different but mine is purely Fashion. This means I get the chance to do projects in all the different areas within the industry, lots of which I have never tried before. Some of the projects that I completed at college included Illustration, McQueen and Industrial Standards (click the links for more detail on these posts). I loved doing these projects and uni has taken me even further doing new projects including A Walk in my Shoes, Scrap for One Fashion for Another, Fashion Issues and A Digital Sketchbook (click the links for more details).

But I am not jsut a fashion student. I have two jobs which I have kept for when I am home over holiday times. One at an independent pottery studio and the other for an online fashion retailer. I love both of my jobs and miss work when I am away at uni. I have been at the pottery studio since I was 15 and having grown up there, my colleges are like family to me! Then alongside all of that I have my blog! I had always wanted to start a blog but it was only this Christmas (2016) that I finally got round to setting one up and I am so pleased that I did. I enjoy writting and love being able to connect with my readers, sharing my thoughts and feelings.

In the little time that I have spare around coursework, blogging and working. I spend time with my boyfriend, family and friends. Whether its a catch up over dinner, a shopping trip or just a movie night in, I always make sure to save some time for those who I care about most.

So theres a little insight to my life! If theres anything else you would like to know about me I will be doing a Q&A in a couple of weeks, so leave your questions in the comments below!

(Also apologies for the delay in this post, was supposed to go live on Wednesday but due to my internet order being cancelled and being left without any connection I have only been able to post today!)

Yours Truly,

Emma x
