Collective Beauty Haul

Guys it’s christmas eve!!! I can’t believe how fast the time has come around! As I haven’t been able to get a post up for a couple of weeks, I thought that I would make the time to write one for you today! Sadly it’s not a festive post, but I hope that you still enjoy!

As a uni student getting more and more broke, I can’t go out and treat myself to new beauty and make up bits as much as I would like to, meaning a lack of hauls for you all. So I decided that over the last couple of months I would keep everything that I have brought together and put it together as one collective haul. I will start off with a couple of beauty items. I have never really used a high quality eye cream, occasionally I would reach for my simple eye gel, but after having that for about 3 years and not yet finishing it, I thought it was probably not doing me a lot of good. As its been getting colder and colder, I have found that my undereye area has been drying out so I finally treated myself to a good eye cream. I decided to go for the burts bees intense hydration eye cream and have to say I’m impressed. It’s an odorless cream and leaves my eyes feel fresh and soft. The next skin care product I brought is another new one that I have not tried before, the Pixi Glow Tonic. This is something I have always wanted to try and after seeing it come into the sale on Black Friday, I had to pick it up. I have only used it a couple of times so far, but I am enjoying it. It had a refreshing smell and leaves me feeling nice and awake in the morning.

Next up I couldn’t resist this lip kit that I spotted in Primark. It’s a stunning pink metallic shade, and comes with both a liner and liquid lipstick. Unfortunately, the lip liner is quite a lot paler that the lipstick, so it doesn’t really show up on my lips, however the lipstick itself comes out a beautiful metallic shade. It has good pigment and lasts a long time, te only downside being that t really dries your lips out, but you can’t expect everything from primark.

Following on from that I have two eye make up items. The first is the make up forever starlit powder, in the shade 15 (I think). This was something else I had been wanting for a long time and had managed to pick up when it was in the sale! I don’t think the swatch of it that I did of the powder does it justice at all, but it is the most stunning colour ever. It’s a shimmery rose pink and can be used as eyeshadow as well as a highlighter! I have use it a couple of times now when doing a cut crease look and it has worked amazingly!

The next eye product, I have had a while now, but as I have yet to mention it on my blog, I felt the need to express my love. This make up revolution pallets has been my go to for about 3 months now and I can see I will be using it for many months more. This Flawless Resurrection palette is said to be a dupe of the Anastasia Beverly Hills, modern Renaissance pallette. I don’t own that pallette myself but I have tried it from friends and I can agree this is a very good dupe. For an affordable high street alternative, the colours are really pigmented, especially the mattes and the range of colours means you can create so many different eye looks. I just can’t express enough how much I am enjoying this pallette.

If you guys know me, you will know I love a good highlighter. With my favourite being my chameleon topshop one. So when I unwrapped a new topshops highlight from my best friend on my birthday, I was super excited! The shade sunbeam is a pretty golden shade, a colour I had yet to add to my collection. The other highlighter that I got recently is a primark one in a pink shade. It swatched really nicely in the shop but after using it, it doesn’t seem to show up as much on the cheeks, which is a shame.

I grabbed this bargain when I was in TKmax doing some christmas shopping. It was reduced down to only £10, a complete bargin! I was looking for a new bronzer that I coud dust over my face to give me a warm look and I am more than happy with the results of this one. It isn’t too pigmented so I can be messy with the application and is a warm toned brown making my skin looked sun-kissed. I would definitely recommend this product.

Finally I got myself a new setting spray. Previously I have always used the Urban Decay, all nighter spray, but wanted to get a more affordable one that I could use on a day-to-day basis. It feels a bit more chemically when I first spary it, but once it has settled, I can see that I does keep my make up in place throughout the day.

So that’s all from this collective haul and I hope you have enjoyed seeing what I have picked up over the last couple of months. What new products have you brought recently? Let me know below!

Hope you all have a good christmas!

Yours Truly,

Gym Look Book – The Brights

Its been a while coming but I am super excited to share with you all my latest lookbook! The gym brights! After the great response on my last gym lookbook post I have been wanting to post the second part here but as some of you may know I have been so busy over the summer and it has taken until now to get this post written and pictures eidited. If you didn’t see my last lookbook check it out here – Gym Lookbook – Black and Pink. I loved all the outfits in my last post, butsometimes I like to go a bit brighter and bolder, so for you fun loving gym girls out there… here are the brights of my gym wardrobe!

Look 1

This first look is a perfect summer go to look. It’s cute and fun, while keping you cool, but staying covered up. When I found these shorts on Bershka I just couldn’t resist and looking further into their website I soon found a cute top to wear with them. The two pieces compliment each other well, being colourful but not too over powering. I had always been nervous to wear shorts at the gy, worried they would ride up but these are super comfy and stay in place, making me feel secure while working out.

(Top and shorts from Bershka, sports bra from New Balance, Nike trainers)

Look 2

This next look is slightly darker than the first, but still has a good amount of colour to keep it fun. For me a perfect colour scheme for the gym in the winter. The leggings are my favourite in the look. The pink and purple ombre gives the outfit that good hint of colour, while to mesh pannel at the back of the legs give it a stylish edgy look. I would normally add a black jacket when going to and from the gym and then add a black cap to make the outfit look complete.

(Leggings from TKmax, sports bra is New Balance, Nike trainers and cap from Asos)

Look 3

This next look is a bit more toned down with plain black leggings, but the fun comes in with the sports bra! Although this isn’t the most supportive sports bra, the look of it is great. I tend to stear away from this bra when doing weight bearing , but for a spin class or abs work out it works fine. I loved the bright pink pattern on the bra and not wanted to cover it up, paired it with this muscle tee. This tee has a large open back and dropped sides really showing off the colours on the bra.

(Leggings, top and bra all from forever 21, Nike trainers)

Look 4

My final look is possible the boldest of the collection! Not only are there bright galaxy print leggings but a bright pink top to match my trainers! I found these leggings in TKmax for just £8 and couldn’t resist! They are definatly out there so for anyone wanting to blend in at the gym, maybed these aren’t the best option. But if you know me, I love a bold choice!

(Top and trainers are Nike, leggings TKmax and foam roller is from Amazon)

Gym-13 (1)Gym-16 (1)Gym-17 (1)

I hope you have enjoyed my second gym look book! I am back to uni next week so will be back at it in the gym and I cannot wait. I feel like my fitness has really dropped over summer but a new academic year and I am raring to go! Do any of you go to the gym?

Gym Look Book – The Black and Pinks

I am a sucker when it comes to cute gym clothes! I just can’t get enough of them! I am always adding new bits and pieces to my collection so I thought that I would finally share that collection with you today! This is the first look book that I have photographed by myself, on myself so please bare with me as the image quality isn’t amazing as I am still experimenting on how to get the best shot!

I find that wearing the right gym clothes can really help to motivate me in the gym. I love putting on the clothes and to be able to do that I have to be going to the gym so it can help make me go more often! Also by having cute outfits I am more confident wearing them out and about when I am planning on going to the gym after whatever I am up to that day, so it becomes a win win situation.

Look 1.

I love the simplicity yet stylish look of this outfit. The leggings have a great fit, giving me both comfort and shape while I work out. I also adore the pattern on them, fun yet not too over the top! The top I have paired with them is a pale pink t-shirt that I tie at the front to give more shape and effect. The sports bra ia my go to sports bra. Although it isn’t underwired like some, it has a decent amount of padding and good coverage, making it the perfect support for me.

(Top and leggings are from New Look, sports bra New balance, Nike trainers and then my wireless Beat headphones)

Look 2 .

This new look is an all Primark outfit! Showing you that you don’t have to pay a lot for cute gym clothes! The sports bra and leggings are a matching set and with the detail only at the bottom of the leggings, it means that the two pieces are easy to wear together. I don’t find the sports bra to have the best fit for me, so I tend to only wear it when I know I wont be doing any intense cardio. On top of the set I have thrown on this cropped hoodie and a matching cap!

(Jumper, hat, bra and leggings from Primark, Nike trainers)

Look 3.

My final look features my favourite pair of leggings that I own. These are from Sweaty Betty and are the softest, comfiest pair on leggings I have ever felt. although they are expensive you can easily see the quality that you are paying for! I have had these for around a year and a half now and they are yet to show any signs of wear and tear! Again I have paired them with my grey sports bra and then on top I have put on a lightweight charcoal jacket!

(Jacket from H&M, leggings are Sweaty Betty, Spots bra from New Balance, Nike trainers)

I hope that you have enjoyed having a look at a few of my gym outfits and that you are inspired to give you workout a fashion kick! These are just a few of my workout items, I have a few brighter coloured pieces that I have also done a look book for and will be sharing with you soon!

Dont forget I am doing a Q&A next month so leave your questions below!

An Ikea Idea

A new trend has recently emerged in the mens fashion industry… Ikea bag clothing! I wasn’t sure how  felt about this new trend when I first saw the idea emerge but after my boyfriend asked me to hep him customise a jumper of his own, the trend began to grow on me! Ikea styled jumpers and tops already out them with designer labels on them, can cost a fortune, so after a quick trip to a nearby Ikea store and a stop off at Primark, this jumper only cost approximately £8!

I set about creating the jumper by first measuring out how long the sleeves, before cutting the straps off an Ikea bag. Once I had the straps ready to go, I unpicked a small section on the arm hole to create an opening for the strap to attach into and then did the same down at the cuff. All I needed to do after that was to pin and then sew a line of stitching down each side of the strap… and Voila I had a contemporary mens fashion jumper!

As a new trend it can be scary to fork out on expensive items so I wanted to show to you that it can be easy to experiment and try things at an affordable price! All it takes is a bit of imagination and a few skills! And if you don’t have those skills, then after a bit of googling or reading book that you will soon develop many new skill sets!

What is your opinion on the Ikea trend? Let me know below!

(apologies for the poor image backgrounds. The background on the images was not the best and didn’t do the best job when chaging it to white as I was on the train while doing so!)

Primark Nails

Before I write this post I want to do a quick side note apology for the lack of a post last Wednesday! I have been trying to post every Wednesday but due to deadlines piling in at uni I didn’t get a chance to write last weeks! I was pushed to finish one deadline for Wednesday morning before travelling to Bristol for a photoshoot on Thursday!
Due to this I was also not able to do my normal monthly update, so March will have to be combined with April!

I am going away to Wales with my famil for the week on Thursday but will be sceduling a post for next Wendsay and hopefully will be able to follow that up with some photographs from my trip! Anyway back to my weekly post… Primark Nails!

Am I the only girl out ther who cannot stand painting their nails?! The time it takes to sit and litrally watch paint dry… only for it to then chip off a few days later! It has always fustrated me until I found a better alternative! Fake nails! I have never wanted to pay to go and get my nails done professionally. As a student, its not something that really fits into my budget, but after hearing that primark nails are great and cheap and there being a big store just down the road from me I decided to check them out and haven’t looked back since.

There was a large range when I went in and I now have a growing collection! My favourite are these neutral coloured ones in Stone Cold. They are perfect to wear with anything and I found them to stay on for over two weeks! Pretty impressive for only paying £1. They do take a while to apply though. With doing an art subject, I need to be able to use my hands easily for all the pratical tasks, making, sewing ect. and becuase of this i struggle with having long nails, meaning I cut and file each nail once applied. But the extra time taken to do this is definitly worth it for how long they stay on for! Especially, like I said, when I do a lot of pratical work with my hands! Imagine if I wasn’t doing any of this, how long they would stay on for!

I recently added a couple of new styles to my collection. The ‘Rose Gold’ and the ‘Frosted Rose’ nails. I wore the ‘Rose Chrome’ into uni and must have got 3 or 4 compliments that day of people asking where I get my nails done! Only to be greeted with shocked faces when I said they were Pirmark £.150 fake nails! I am ye to try the ‘Rose Chrome’ but am very excited to!

What do you guys like to do with you nails? Paint them? Get them done? I would love to hear all your thoughts!

Spring Clothing Haul

The start of spring means having tha chance to do a bit of shopping for some new wardrobe pieces and during a trip to Birmingham this is exactly what I did!

The first stop was Primark where I picked up a few cute tops! The first was this off the shoulder, blue and white pinstripe top! (Top variation as link) I thought that this would be a great summary top to throw on with a pair of jeans or shorts, great for a casual trip into town and for me great for going to work. Next I found two t-shirts with 3/4 length sleeves that have a frill section at the end of them. As such cute tops I decided to get two! one in a mauve pink and the other navy.

Next stop was New Look where I grabbed myself a pair of the comfiest trackies for only £9.99! These light grey joggers were just what I had been looking for on those lazy days where I was to be comfy without staying in my pjs all day! They came in other colours to and I am of course tempted to go back and get another pair!

face masks-2

I then found myself in Forever 21 a shop that I have a bit of a love hate relationship with. Sometimes I will find the best bargains in there and other times I hate everything! There were quite a few bits that I liked in the Birmingham store but sadly they didn’t have my size in a lot of the items. But one that they did have my size in was this gorgeous pink shirt. I love shirts and find them such an easy go to option which you can dress up or down. I think this one will look great with black jeans and black boots for a casual yet smart evening look.

Finally I went to my current favourite shop… Zara where I picked up two great items. The first was a black leather skirt with panel detail. I have needed a classy black skirt for a while now. I have always worn the cheap jersey ones that slowly ride up as you walk and drive me crazy! So I decided that I was finally time to invest in a proper skirt and went with this one from zara. The second item was a pale pink top. In a way similar to the primark ones but instead of a t-shirt material, a shirt material giving it looser and more dressy fit.

A few days before going to Birmingham I had also brought a pair of jeans from Bershka so thought I’d add them onto the haul for you to see. They are a pair of slim fit jeans, in dark navy, that sit on your hips. Although just a standard pair of jeans, I can struggle to find a pair that fit me. These are a great fit tho, sitting tightly against my body and giving me the perfect shape!

face masks-7face masks-8

This is the first haul post that I have done on my blog and although loving it, I did struggle to take pictures of the items! So I have tried to link you to clothes as best as possible! Also let me know if you would like to see a spring look book as this may be something easier to photograph!

Yours Truly,

Emma x
