A Date with the Animals

Whether I’m 9 or 19, I will always love a trip to the zoo! Walking up to the gates I couldn’t help feeling a bubble of excitement growing inside me! I was there for a day trip with my boyfriend. A chance to spend some time together, enjoy the sun and whip out my camera to take some cute pictures of the animals!

It was such a fun day out and I wanted to share with you the photos I took on the day. I have never tried wildlife photography before and was more than happy with how these came out!

Hope your enjoy!

August 2017 – Summer days

How is it September already!

The summer has flown by in a blink! But then I guess that’s just what happens when you’re busy! August was such a busy month for me, but I was lucky enough to take 10 days off in the middle, where I got to spend some quality time with friends and my boyfriend. Around working full-time, I haven’t had a lot of time to myself, so knowing I had these 10 days coming up, I was more than excited! I planned in advance how I would spend my time, fitting in a trip to see uni friends, friends from home and then finally spending the last few days with my boyfriend. These days that I spent with him we decided to take a trip into london and then a couple of days later, a trip to Brighton! Both days were amazing! I always love the hustle and bustle in central London. Everywhere you look there is something going on and it’s so easy just to lose yourself in your surroundings. Going to Brighton had to be my favourite day of my time off. Brighton is one of my favourite places. Theres so much to do, from shopping in the centre, to sitting on the beach. Collection vintage keepsakes from the lanes, to eating donuts on the pier! You just can’t be bored! The trip was eventful too with prying seagulls eyeing up our donuts, we tried to keep the hidden, but within moments of taking the first bite… a gigantic seagull landed straight on Chris’ head! It scared the life out of me, but I can say that moment wont be forgotten easily!

As summer draws to an end I am finishing my last week off at work before heading back to uni on the 16th of September. The time has disappeared before my eyes and I can’t help but feel sad that I have not been able to do as much in the time that I had; but that was my choice. I knew working full-time would take it out of me, but being a student, I was keen to earn as much as I could for the upcoming year.

Have you guys started back at school, uni or work? Let me know what you are up to in the comments below!

Coombe Abbey

Coombe Abbey country park, the perfect place to spend a sunny sunday afternoon. Whether you’re going for an event at the hotel, a wander around the park or just to sit in the sun, soaking in the atmosphere, Coombe Abbey is the place.

I recently took a trip here with my boyfriend to make the most of the beautiful weather and it ended up being an amazing day! The country park is the home to a beautiful hotel manor house and on the day in which we visited, a wedding was taking place. It gave the park a great atmosphere, hearing the wedding party celebrating the happy day, sun shining, birds tweeting, what more could you want!

After sitting in the sun for a while, we decided to take a walk round the grounds and through the woodland! It was such a nice feeling to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and spend time in the quiet, peaceful woodland area. It gave me a chance to escape from reality for just a few moments! But one thing that I couldn’t escape was the ain that my feet were in! I had made the mistake of wearing cute, but very impractical shoes! I had chosen to wear a cute floral summer dress from zara and had stupidly paired it with some heeled sandals from Bershka. These may be my favourite sandals, but I can tell you now that they are not designed for walking around woodlands in!

After our walk round, we realised just how late it had got and with tummys rumbling we made a bee line for the ice cream van, treating ourselves to a large whippy ice cream each! It was the perfect way to end a perfect Sunday afternoon and I hope to go back to Coombe Abbey again soon!

What do you like to get up to on a Sunday?

Your’s Truly,

Pink Grapefruit Collection at the Body Shop

As summer is quickly approaching I decided to have a shift around in my every day beauty products! I switched out my coco butter shower gel and body lotion and, after a quick trip to Body Shop, replaced it them a few of the products from the pink grapefruit range. This has to be my favourite fragrance from the Body Shop. Its fresh zingy scent has me up and ready to go on those warm summer mornings, making me excited for the sunny day ahead.

They were doing a buy one half price offer on the large items, so I picked myself up a bottle of the shower gel and then a large tub of body butter. Then from the smaller products I grabbed one of the body scrubs. I had never tried a Body Shop scrub before which is why I opted for the smaller size to give it a trial run before purchasing the larger one if I get along well with it. I then have the small pot of body butter. This is a product that I already owned from before. I had stocked up on these last summer as they are the perfect size to throw in your bag. I loved using the small tub after I’d done some sunbathing in the park with friends or if my skin was looking dry throughout a day when having bare legs!

I am so excited to start using these new products now that the sun is finally out! Pink grapefruit is definitely my go to summer scent! What’s your favourite summer fragrance? Let me know in the comments down below?

Yours Truly,

Emma x
